About

The Beginning

Kim Zick and Connie Grauer are born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, home town of Les Paul. They attend the same high school, but rarely speak to each other; not much in common or so they think. Years later Kim forms a band and needs a keyboard player. Remembering a great musician from high school, she calls Connie and the rest is history.

Milwaukee

To date, MRS. FUN has made Milwaukee their base. They continue to develop their music as well as collaborate with others. (See other projects).

Nashville

Kim and Connie move to Nashville to back up country singer Traci Peel. A year later they quit the band and form MRS. FUN. While in Nashville they make many friends with whom they record and/or perform with. Most notably; kd lang, Indigo Girls, Victor Wooten, Edgar Meyer, Jim Rooney, Jill Sobule, Jane Siberry and Janis Ian. They stay in Nashville for 5 years and then return to their homeland of Milwaukee.

The Music

Complex. Sophisticated. Adventurous. The music of MRS. FUN is a unique blend of off-center jazz, ultra-funk, spoken word rap, and neo-cabaret
